About rhythm, reflex & typing games
Rhythm, reflex and typing games test the link between your eyes and your hands. There is nothing to plan and little to remember: something appears, and you respond as quickly and as accurately as you can. Rounds are short, scores are clear, and the gap between a good run and a great one is often just a few focused seconds.
This section brings together three families. Typing games such as the Typing Speed Test measure how many words per minute you can type and how many keystrokes you get right. Aim games ask you to hit targets that appear, shrink or move, rewarding speed and precision together. Rhythm games challenge you to tap or press in time with a beat or a moving marker.
Most of these games are best played on a computer with a keyboard and mouse, because that is where small differences in timing show up clearly. Every one still works on a phone or tablet, and each page explains how the controls change on a touch screen. Compare scores on the same device: screens, keyboards and touch panels each add their own tiny delays.
Your best results are saved in your browser, so you can come back tomorrow and try to beat them. Nothing you type or tap is sent anywhere, and there is no account to create. Each game page also covers how the score is worked out, tips for improving it and a little history behind the challenge.
Short, regular sessions work best. A couple of warm-up rounds, a few honest attempts and a break will improve your scores more than an hour of tired, frustrated retries.
